2009 NRECA Legislative Conference
May 3-6, 2009
Washington, DC

Making sure that electric bills are affordable to consumers across the nation will be the focus of the nearly 3,000 electric cooperative leaders who will descend on Washington this week for NRECA's Legislative Conference. Representatives from the 900+ cooperative electric utilities nationwide and the 42 million consumers they serve will visit Capitol Hill offices this week to discuss a wide range of issues, including including climate change, renewable energy and energy efficiency, with members of Congress.

The issues being discussed include:

  • Rural Utility Service
  • Climate Change
  • Renewable Energy Standard
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Railroad Anti-Trust Reform
