NRECA would like to thank the 86 Representatives who signed a letter to Reps. DeLauro and Kingston and the 25 Senators who signed letters to Sens. Kohl and Brownback to ensure that the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Electric Loan Program maintains the FY 2010 spending level of $6.5 billion and can continue to make loans for intermediate and peaking natural gas plants, as well as environmental upgrades to existing power plants. Maintaining the RUS Electric Loan Program will help keep electric prices down for consumers. The program is also projected to return $50 million to the federal government.
