At NRECA, we believe in giving back to the communities in which we work - not just because our management says so, but because our people do.

Our Values:
We embrace the values of integrity, accountability, innovation and commitment to community.

Our Vision
To be the association that empowers electric cooperatives to the point that every consumer would wish to be a member.

Our Mission
To meet or exceed our members' expectations within the framework of the seven cooperative principles.

The 7 Cooperative Principles
  1. Voluntary and Open Membership — Cooperatives are voluntary organizations, open to all persons able to use their services and willing to accept the responsibilities of membership.
  2. Democratic Member Control — Cooperatives are democratic organizations controlled by their members, who actively participate in setting policies and making decisions.
  3. Members’ Economic Participation — Members contribute equitably to, and democratically control, the capital of their cooperative.
  4. Autonomy and Independence — Cooperatives are autonomous, self-help organizations controlled by their members.
  5. Education, Training, and Information — Cooperatives provide education and training for their members, elected representatives, managers, and employees so they can contribute effectively to the development of their cooperatives.
  6. Cooperation Among Cooperatives — Cooperatives serve their members most effectively and strengthen the cooperative movement by working together.
  7. Concern for Community — While focusing on member needs, cooperatives work for the sustainable development of their communities.

Diversity
Valuing Diversity is an ongoing commitment at NRECA. NRECA believes that "None of us is as strong as all of us."

Our Volunteerism Policy
NRECA recognizes its responsibility as a good corporate citizen to help enrich our surrounding communities in support of the seventh cooperative principle, Concern for Community. We encourage employees to model our “Commitment to Community” value by lending their voluntary time and effort to programs that positively impact the quality of life in the communities where we live and work.

This policy provides an incentive, in the form of additional paid time off, for employees to serve as volunteers in community programs that are either of personal interest or are association-sponsored. Employees will be eligible for one day of Volunteer Paid Time Off for every 24 hours of volunteer work they contribute to eligible organizations, up to a maximum of 3 days per year.

Meet Our People
Meet the people we hire. Listen to what they have to say.
