FALLS CHURCH, VA – On October 28, NRECA received its fifth Companies As Responsive Employers (CARE) Award at the 18th Annual CARE event, sponsored by Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS).
The CARE Awards program honors Northern Virginia companies offering unique programs to benefit employees, their families and the local community. NVFS evaluates company policies and benefits, evaluating their ease of utilization, as well as company culture and philosophy.
NVFS highlighted NRECA’s commitment to match up to $500 for flexible spending accounts, as well as the association’s defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans.
Paul Hvidding, Vice President of Human Resources accepted the award, stating, “NRECA is proud to be honored by the CARE Award for the fifth time. It’s a key part of our branding strategy to be known as a ‘great place to work.’ As we make decisions about our HR practices, living up to the Award program principles keeps us mindful of employees’ needs.”
Developed by NVFS and area business leaders, the CARE Awards have been bestowed on local companies excelling workplace change and innovation since 1993.
NRECA is the national service organization that represents the nation’s more than 900 private, not-for-profit, consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which provide service to 42 million people in 47 states.
